The IPV400

The IPV400 by iPV Vaping Technology Co., Limited is a small mod that packs a huge punch. 10 watts to 200 watts output through the SX Pure chipset by Yihi. Temp Control will take you  from 10J to 120J and the standard resistance is 0.15 ohms to 3 ohms. Joules mode resistance is .05 to 1.5 ohms. Temperature limits are 212 to 572 degrees and all of this is happening with just two 18650 batteries. You can use stainless steel, nickel, and titanium wire for your temp control builds…it’ll handle them all. Like most other mods out there, the IPV400 has all the protection you would come to expect from a decent mod like low resistance, shorted atomizer, temperature overheating etc.

Now that we have all that out of the way, let’s take a look at this thing. First off, it’s small (I think I said that already). Taking up as little of a space as is possible while still holding 2 batteries, it’s a stealthy little vape mod. It only has 3 buttons, 1 fire button and the usual “up” and “down” button for adjustments and menu control. The 510 connector on top is set in the dead center of the mod. Of course, that’s a good think if you’re looking to put a larger RDA or tank on it.  One thing that I find nice about it is the battery door. You can’t lose it, it won’t fall into the floor when you’re doing something stupid like changing the batteries while your driving. You pop the batteries in and close it up with all of its hinged glory. I’ve placed a few pics in here so you can see what I’m talking about.

The up and down buttons on it feel a little soft to me. They almost feel like synth pads (if you’re a musician, you know what I’m talking about). The fire button is wonderful. It has a great click to it to let you know that you’ve pressed it. It may be just that the fire button is a bit larger and therefore has more movement, but it just feels better to me. 20161015_194152

Now to take a look at the size of this thing. To give you something to compare to, I’ve placed it next to a Reuleaux RX200S. The RX series of this mod is a pretty good size considering it takes three 18650 batteries. The IPV400 will do almost the same thing as the RX with about a 1/3 smaller form factor. The rounded edges of the IPV feel great. It fits in my hand firmly and I don’t feel like I’m going to be dropping it. It also has a nice textured front (opposite the fire button) that adds to it feeling secure in your hand.20161015_194013

This mod isn’t much different from most other mods when it comes to controlling it. You tap the fire button 5 times to kick it on. Hit it five more times to get to the menu to select the power option where you can select to turn it off.  Other options include temp control mode, joule mode, and  also the locking and unlocking of the device.

If you’re looking for a new device that has that smaller form factor but still has a punch, or you’re looking for a smaller mod that can do the temp control thing, this is it. It has the power and functionality of every other mod out there and can fit in your pocket with ease.
